THERAPY ACT

Therapy ACT is an ACT Government therapy service for ACT residents that offers:-

Information and advice for families, carers and teachers on children's development -Information and advice for adults and adolescents with a developmental disability and their carers -Multi-disciplinary and single discipline assessments - Therapy and intervention - Counselling and support for families -Autism Assessment and Family Support Team - Consultancy service - Seminars and workshops for parents, health professionals, teachers and community workers.

Our vision is that people with developmental disabilities and delays in development achieve what they want to achieve, live how they choose to live, and are valued as full and equal members of the ACT Community.

CARERS ACT

Carers ACT is the recognised and expert voice with and for Carers, as well as being the major provider of Carer services and supports in the ACT. Carers ACT is a member of the National Network of Carers Associations. We are a non government, not for profit association that relies on public and private sector support to fulfil our mission with and on behalf of Carers. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors with family caring and professional skills who set the strategic direction of the organisation and oversee financial and legal governance.

Deliver carer services and support programs, lead change through representation, policy development and advice to government, provide information, education and training for Carers and service providers.

THE DEVELOPING FOUNDATION

The Developing Foundation Inc. supports families seeking treatment for a child or adult with brain injury or developmental disability.

DEVELOPING CHILDHOOD -

Developing Childhood is a unique e-health parenting companion which assesses baby and toddlers development and provides a personalised milestone cart, development reports and stimulating activities to encourage milestone development.

THE SPASTIC CENTRE -

The Spastic Centre is a large service for people with cerebral palsy and their families in New South Wales. It's website includes a large 'About Cerebral Palsy' section, with links to a large number of information resources to help people living with cerebral palsy and their families. Features include: a What is Cerebral Palsy page; a section for families of recently diagnosed children; Preschool Fact Pack; Early School Years Fact Pack; and a Transition Kit for teenagers leaving school.

ParentWise Podcast Series
The ParentWise Podcast series is designed to help families understand some of the complex issues of parenting a child with cerebral palsy. Written and presented by people who have had many years working with children with a disability, these audiocasts cover such diverse topics as building networks of support, managing your child's behaviour, building their resilience, assistive technology options, respite, mealtime issues, your child's growing awareness, siblings, and looking after yourself and your partner. BRAIN INJURY AUSTRALIA -

Brain Injury Australia is the peak acquired brain injury (ABI) advocacy body representing, through its State and Territory Member Organisations, the needs of people with an acquired brain injury, their families and carers. It works at a national level to ensure that all people living with acquired brain injury have access to the supports and resources they need to optimise their social and economic participation in the community.

NOVITA -

Novita Children’s Services was established in 1939 as the Crippled Children’s Association of SA, to care for children diagnosed with polio.  From these humble beginnings, Novita has grown to become one of South Australia’s premier children’s charities – and a recognised and celebrated world leader in the research, development and provision of quality services to children and families living with physical disabilities. - A restriction or lack of ability that limits the person’s physical functioning and acquired brain injuries - Injury to the brain that occurs after birth, often as a result of medical events, such as cancer or trauma resulting from injuries, such as in a vehicle accident. 

Novita currently provides essential therapy, equipment and family support to more than 1300 children - and through broader work with families and communities, has a direct impact on more than 10,000 South Australians.
